      PlayStation este o consola de jocuri video lansata la data de 11 noiembrie 2006 in Japonia, de catre Sony, in Romania ajungand un an mai tarziu la data de 24 martie 2007, la un pret de 600 de euro.PlayStation 3 fiind, ati ghicit, a treia generatie de console lansata de Sony.Recent a primit o actualizare de software.

         Xbox este de asemenea o consola de jocuri video lansata de Microsoft, la data de 15 noiembrie 2001 in America de Nord si un an mai tarziu, la 22 martie 2002, in Europa.Succesorul Xbox-ului, Xbox 360, a fost lansat in noiembrie 2005.Vanzarile au fost intrerupte o perioada din cauza cererii prea mici.
